A funny well executed idea. The dof in this image is deep. just as it should be to render all the important elements sharp.
(In contrast, I wanted only one sharp point of focus in "Persimmons" and did not want to render the whole thing sharp. Good thing, too, as the dof of a 90 wide open isn't much!)
There is a lot of apparent grain in this for a medium format shot, but I think it may be intentional and actually adds to the overall effect.

Hello Richard,
thanks to your comments to this "Mr.M life" project (it's a series of pictures and it's still evolving).
This is a crop from a 6x6 film (HP5+) developed in PMK. Usually the result on paper is less evident.
BTW, the film is very dark, I can assure you that's not easy to measure the light of a burning newspaper (Rollei SL66 is an old manual camera)and I had to keep some distance to avoid to... burn my camera :-)

Very hot Annunci ? Love the concept, composition, great model. But do not like the pattern on top. I've just spent 50% of the time looking at the texture trying to figure what is it. Is it just the wallpaper ? Is it a layer you've put on top of the original composition ?...

Che diabolico ritratto!!
E ritorna il soggetto tempo!
In questa immagine il metro del tempo che passa non è più l?orologio ma il giornale ( nella specifica un quotidiano).
Il valore del tempo è dato anche dalle persone che si incontrano e chissà se Mr.M incontrerà qualche essere umano nella sua storia ?..e chissà
se Mr. M. è posseduto dal tempo o riesce a possederlo!
So che le risposte le dovrò trovare da sola e , magari, seguendo gli scatti avvincenti di questo racconto fotografico a puntate.
Pazienza?.ci vuole pazienza.

This series is beyond what i can comment, i've been watching it with great interest as it's been evolving in your portfolio, so strange, bizarre, and very interesting. I find this shot alone so very good, i can't believe how calm he is while that paper is burning... :-). The toning and grains adds to the mood. Splendid.

I really should have given more explanation. I found humor in the irony you created in this shot. Mr. M is so intense. The look on his face is so unmoved by the fire on the newspaper. And his eyes are looking right into the lense at the viewer of the photo rather than his own situation. I think this is a great great shot. It's my favorite in your Mr. M portfolio. Excellent work, I think. But yes, this photo does make me laugh a little...but that's a compliment.
