very nice idea but i think that it needs some contrast in lighting

No shadows to create balance, needs some contrast to liven it up, you do better work than this.

Jeez Frank,
I was just about to tell you how much I love this image and how proud I would have been if it was mine. Then I read the two comments. Made me think and look at your image again and again.

My final conclusion : This might not be technically correct in that more contrast is required - but it remains a very, very beautiful for ME.

What I like about this is how the very very soft folds of the petals come together in the sharp centre (cone). The colour is awesome - like whipped peaks.

I like it!

Linn,
The aim of this image was not to produce something with high contrast but the opposite. It was to show the softness of the rose and therefore its delecate nature.Go by your own thoughts not the thoughts of others.Thank you Linn and all who have commented.

Frank, you don't have to tell me that :-)))
I go by my own instincts and feelings and that is why I summed up my comment by telling you how much I liked the softness of your image.
Shucks, I know squat about technicalities and photographic rules - I'm learning as I plod along ... but I do know when I see something I like :-)

Softness and light color are great. I don't think it needs any contrast or sharpness.

i like the subtle, underline subtle imagery. this soft white flower with it's sensual smooth curves . . . . . not garish, not bold, but subtle . . . . . . contrast isn't required. not a picture of a flower, but a capture of soft folds . . . . nice
