Used some postprocessing filters and lots more PS stuff.

Comments are appreciated a lot. To all UF friends: Please forgive me if my comments come in a bit slow. Had a lot to do at the moment.

Thilo -- love the light in this one - It seems to radiate from the buildings themselves .. the sky and the walkers (with shadows) make the image ,, K

Gayle's Eclectic Photos   {K:91033} 8/19/2004
hi there, the narrow vertical format fits this image to emphasize the narrowness of the cobbled street..love Amelie!..as kevin says, the lighting and shadows make this image..nice dramatic night sky..in-camera/PS work are both very well executed..my best to you, gayle (7+)

Hi Kev,

thought about the magic light project but then rejected it ;-)
thanks for the elaborate words. appreciate that.
take care,
thilo

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 8/19/2004
Dear Gayle,

thanks for the kind words. Actually, I love Amelie and have seen this film half a dozen minimum. Roby gave me the idea to do a tribute as he commented on night @ nuremberg that the settings looks like amelie for him.

The reason for the narrow format is exactly like you stated it.
thanks and take care,
thilo

It's so good, I added it to my favorites folder. This image makes me want to travel to places like this.

Hi thilo.. I love nmany time this photo/work..
where the tones become warm... and the soft profiles! when it comes dedicated a oper therefore all changes, one remains art not only photo! the feeling that then "pass on" the city is Big! to times we try to escape from the cities, but it is where we live, where our days run. we must only try the best.
the composition is perfect and the yield of the exposure is good!
cheers
roby

very cool..indeed...very cool lighting ...

Uwe Bachmann   {K:10222} 8/20/2004

Bradley Prue   {K:30312} 8/20/2004
Awesome lighting, awesome colors, awesome shadows....this is fantastic, Thilo! The mood is created with the light/shadows, and the PS work is incredible! Straight into my faves. ..Brad

Erik Neldner   {K:10896} 8/21/2004
Very nice Thilo. The unusual crop is a good idea here. I also like the cool sky and warm city feel about this one.

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 8/22/2004
Dear Erik,

WOW, very cool shoot. Love the soft, warm colors and the drama sky, the lights and the shadow play. I'm not so crazy about the car. Great work!!!

ken osborn   {K:2997} 8/26/2004
Hi Thilo - Yes when I looked at this I thought of Amelie's Paris even though the street is in Nuremberg. Your vertical cropping is very effective and a nice touch. Regards, Mister Ken

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 8/26/2004
Hi Ken,

thanks for the kind & constructive words. appreciate that.
take care,
thilo

Angelo Villaschi   {K:49617} 10/17/2004
Very "pastel" effect. Interesting. I like the way the lights ended up.

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 10/19/2004
Hi Angelo,

again: Nice to see that you cover some rather old pictures (in fact, they are not very old, but rather old regarding my current ideas and probable skills with PS ;-)

thx for the feedback,
Thilo
