Wonderful composition, I how the one cloud looks like a wisp of smoke. The two colors work very well together. Great eye~

This would not be my impression of France but, of course, this is a design by you. Magnificent and minimalist.

Hi Richard, not meant to be an impression of France but rather a personal impression of art feelings .. thanks for your comment !!

Well seen! Instead of dividing the pic in two, I?d like to see either of the elements as 1/3 - 1/4.

Wow Peter,
Do I have to say I like this?
It's strong in it's own simplicity.

Peter:

Solid, minimalist composition, using the colors in a solid geometry.

Reading the comments here, I think that this is overall a good photo. Here are some things to thing about though:

- Perhaps 1/3 to 1/4th Sky, or 1/3 to 1/4th land with the "rule of thirds" to make a more dynamic composition.

- The dunes seem to be fairly regular in this photograph, which lends itself to a calm feeling. If you want a little more dynamic play, go with a wide lens like 28 - 36 mm and lie on the ground close to the sand. This way you can build a foreground/background recession interplay with the dunes in the sand - charging the frame with energy. Remember to go with a near focus and high F-stop to keep the photo crisp.

- Lastly, if you can shoot in late afternoon or sunset you can get some nice sidelighting to bring out the dunes and some definition, not to mention that nice sunset warm glow. Also, in the afternoon you may get some clouds that will make the sky more interesting.

Thx a lot Michael for your elaborate comment.
I wanted the picture this way, in colour, with this regularity in the sand .. and no i had no opportunity for other lighting or cloud conditions as i was on a trip here .. but i agree about the 1/3-2/3 division .. wrong judgement of my part, not being able to choose between sky and sand ..
Adding you as a friend, Michael, you show really interesting work in your portfolio !
Regards, Peter

Peter, this one went to my favorites. I am crazy by blue, and the contrast between land and sky in this pic is really very, very good! You have an impressive portfolio, congratulations! And thanks for the comment on my photo. Cheers, Ana
