hi Laurie,
I was just down @ Mono Lake not to long ago. And I must say that your photos of this area are very impressive. I can't say that mine have any of the sensitivity or interesting compositions that you have managed to create. As to being independently wealthy...hmmm I wish....but really I am an professional artist and traveling to new locations is part of my job. The best part I think! I used to take photos just to help me to create paintings but since joining this site I have been inspired to achieve the best quality images that my meagre photographic talent allows. hope that answers your question. If you are interested you can always check out my web site:

Warm regards, Tim

Hi Tim
Just checked out your website. You are SO incredibly talented. Would love to know if you ever do shows here in California. Would like to come and meet you personally. I have been contacted over the past to ask if various artist could use some of my southwest images to paint from. Would be an honor if you would consider me for that priviledge. Would give you sole rights to the images just to have the honor. Best I have done is reproduce them as inkjets in somekind of graphic "art" form, and although impressive, feel they still would never merrit the quality of an acutal painting. I've been shooting for 30 years. My mother has an album by a family member, now deceased, that painted many images in the 70's that I photographed in arizona. See webshots.com "Carversgal" in the Russell E. White album. It's my hope to get some of my southwest "american cowboy" images to "art" someday. Have contacted a few galleries in Arizona and New Mexico and am hopefull that someday they will be picked up by someone as talented as you. Again, thank you for your nice comments. Look forward to seeing more beautiful images from you soon. Your Friend, Laurie
