About "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." (Henri Cartier-Bresson)

A bit of a risky shot -- taken while hanging out of the 14th window in a bldg opposite MET -- the steps on a Friday night, museum is open later. Wide open, available light only.

Cindi, the risk was worth it - both monumental and ephemeral at the same time.

I especially like the angle and the color is definitely a player here giving all the characters a heightened role in the human drama.

Would like to see this blown up big on a wall - maybe the Met would be interested in it. Why don't you send them a copy?

Cheers, Leora

And as quoted by you... elsewhere...
"You need chaos in your soul to give birth to a dancing star... Nietzsche"

Around 985 Fifth...the view goes on forever... that one can even see the Cloisters way beyond Central Park around 190th Street where there is no chaos... only the results from one man's dream!

Well done for sharing part of the dream!

Cindi, to me it's very simple: love the shot and love the effect. Great Eye (and camera, of course...)

my compliments,
Jeroen

fantastic work of art. You have captured the souls of each person in their walk this day of life. And the angle and colors are just awesome.
