About Shame I wasn't in Wells early enough in the day to get this shot free from cars and people. It's a wonderful scene ~ so historic!! Maybe I'll go back again some time and get a picture without the gaudy Post Office vans and market trailers.

But, hey, no more 'about'!! It's 8.13am, the sun is shining, and it's my day off!! Now where did I put that D70?

See you later,

Chris

Hi Chris,Lovely Historic Building, and yes the cars and clutter do distract, but in this day and age it is hard to be rid of it.Such an beautiful old building though compared with anything we see here, we are so young by comparison.
Anyway enjoy your day andthe sunshine,we
are still having hail and sleet showers after two days of snow.
Kind regards Micky.

That's why they say "Early bird catches the worm" :-)) All the fuss and people makes the image interesting - less "formal" and obviously, more colourful.
Fantastic architecture Chris and well taken.
Linn (in a mood to GARDEN!!)
PS : If you are still looking for the D70, it's hanging from your neck!

wow, excellent shot ! the angle and and colors are perfect, of course without the cars would be more excellent but it's a fine day and a waste not to take this beautiful building, all the fuss create different mood to this pic. nice one.

Chris
i find the cars a real contrast to when the buildings where first built. The shiny new cars age the buildings even more.
So much history Wow.
Enjoy the day off
BTW the D70 is very tough, Mine went flying to the floor of the van yesterday, when a wonderful kind soul pulled out in front of me and I had to apply the brakes. Granted the padded sloped dashboard and double thick floor mats helped !!
but none the worse for wear.
just what i need 2 weeks before holiday

Wow, Chris you just never fail to surprise me with your work of photographic art. NO words to discribe your talent.

you are so right Chris, without those metals it would be much more better; I wait for your promise

I dunno, Chris. The contrast between the humdrum modern cars, and people going about their daily business, not to mention the contrasting colours and textures, rather help this picture than hinder it. IMHO anway. The ancient grandeur of the cathedral and buildings are emphasized, rather than compromised. Just a thought...

Such a grand old building. Cars etc are a way of life now. Just think if you had been there 100 years ago you would have had horses. Don.

hi there, Chris!

what a lovely way to present the Charming Wells to us!
Thank YOU!
i am enjoying each and every ride... *wink*

Interesting how traffic with red and blue vehicles seem to do a fine passage of Time from the imponent Architectural Building to the year 2004!

A Favorite, Chris!!!

kind regards,
Regina
