About Went to San Clemente today, beautiful weather, perfect actually!! We had lunch on the pier at a place called 'The Fisherman' restaurant.
Walked around enjoying the day when I came upon this couple, both with walkers, just so totally enjoying the beach!! It was so good to see these seniors outside, close, laughing, enjoying life! Awesome! They made me smile :)

Great scene Lori - the old watching the young play and have beach fun yet also enjoying the fresh air and getting out and about.
Love the gull that flew into the view finder too :-)

Anybody enjoys a scene like this - especially those depending on walkers! Young people active, old passive behind a small wall - well seen Lori!

Mark Julian   {K:35624} 8/25/2004
OK Lori, don't know how you did it but you got a shot of the back of me and my girlfriend, Maria (if I recall, my instincts told me not to totally turn around)Nice Shot. Really captures Southern California. Alright, it's not us (but sometimes I could go for a walker. Maybe one of those scooters with little engines on them - life's tough)Take care, Mark

Man, look at that straight horizon. I like to see that (unless it's tilted on purpose, of course). Your composition with moving (albeit slowly) people is flawless. Maybe I'm never too old to use a walker, but I prefer a bicycle!

Gustav Miller   {K:309} 8/25/2004
A great picture that speaks more than a thousand words can tell....
A real WINNER in the #40 street photography category.
Perfect IMO.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Regards,
Gustav

Gee Lori, now you are talking about my age group.I was almost with a walker the other day. Got arthritis in a knee and it sure made me walk like Chester. Now have it under control with medicine. This sure has a lot of human interest. They look like they are enjoying the scene and wishing they were younger again. Don.

Lori Stitt   {K:74437} 8/26/2004
Hey Don, we're all on our way! (oh yes, I do know all about bad knees!!)
How come the years go by so fast anyway?? I've been trying to figure this out for the longest time! :)

Yes, they really were enjoying the beach, I watched them for awhile. See? We're NEVER to old to enjoy LIFE!!

Lori :)

Teresa Moore   {K:10682} 8/26/2004

Wonderful juxstaposition of the elderly couple and the younger people enjoying the beach. It wasn't too many years ago that these old people were surfing and building sand castles. A thought provoking image. And you have captured the play of light on the water. I can almost smell the beach and hear the gulls.

Kristina Kohut   {K:49990} 9/4/2004
That is a lovely capture! Beautiful view and the backlight is wonderful! I really wonder what they think and feel when they stand there looking. Perhaps smiling as they remember everything they did as youngs... or missing everything they did not do?
