About This is an old photo taken with my dainty little Ixus V3.

The view is from my bus stop in Morley, looking back across the graveyard to my estate.

You often get sun rises like this in winter at around 8AM.

The reason this one came up was a demo of how to remove power cables in Photoshop! Can you spot where it used to be???

I also did the following....

Sharpened it using the high pass filter method

Increased the saturation by about 15

Deepened the Blues in the sky - gave it a more purple appearance

Uncreased the contrast using the Curves....

all in the name of educating my work colleagues :-)

Excellent work, your "Dawn of the Dead", Ade, all but the name. I can't detect any residue of the amount of work you invested in creating a perfect landscape photo.
Thank your for your generous comment on my "Grasslight" (I almost wrote gaslight).
Regards,]
Rafi

Thanks for kind comments.

I kind of regret the name with hindsite. It's a far more optimistic image than the name - I just saw the graves and the rising sun and put the 2 together.

I'll see if I can change it - never done it before.

Beautifully taken picture, a gorgeous view and great composition. I like what you did to it, also love the row of crosses agains the skyline. Alison

Just out of interest, this is the original photo - the untouched jpg off the card

I think you can change the name of your "Dawn of the Dead", Ade, if you go to "my photos" and click on "edit"

Beautiful photo Ade and you did a fantastic job removing the power line. Great idea to post the original. So when are you giving PS lessons then ;-)

ade mcfade   {K:12388} 8/29/2004
Don't tell the boss..... but the lessons are in those quieter moments at work!

I'd say I know about 1% of what PS can do, so it's a good start :-)

Stephen Bowden   {K:64540} 8/29/2004
I think I know a different 1% too lol
