About An old abandoned home on a secondary highway between Barrie and Wasaga Beach, Ontario. I have always wanted to photograph it as we pass by everytime we go up north. I took about 50 shots from every angle and different photo effect modes. Photo Effect Mode: Vivid

It is nice to be back and I missed you guys. I see I have a lot of catching up to do and will try my best to comment on as many from the past week as possible. My apologies in advance if I don't get to all of them.

Great shot, Christine - what a cool old building! I really like the effect of the graduated shading in the sky, lending a bit of mystery to the image that certainly fits the character of the house! Did you use a grad. filter on the camera, or did you add this afterwards in the computer?

Ozjan Yeshar   {K:18661} 8/27/2004
In so many ways such shots provoke me to think who was living there and what sort of life did they have. Amazing what time leaves behind. A great shot with all aspects once more dear Christine! Cheers.

Christine, I loved this series. I just don't know how you manage to make your greens pop like that! Outstanding effect!
Though I like the B&W and Sepia versions too - this colour one is my favourite. The extra blue sky, the lush greens - it appeals to me more. You have captured the texture of the cabin beautifully.
Well done.
Linn

Someone was once very proud of this house when it was new. Your tones and shading really bring out a haunted feeling and make us think of what once was but is no more.

hey,Sassy,i missed our repartee, too and glad you're back!..i see you came back with some extraordinary images..love the comp on this one..vivid colors..like the gradient light and the silvery/sepia tone of the wood..any idea of the year house was built?..love to explore places like this..good one!..gayle

Wow... great effort, and the result is very nice picture of object and color composition. You must be a pro. Here is my comment,in my opinion the main object is too close, shifting it further back will enhance the composition.

Marcio Janousek   {K:32409} 8/29/2004
what an wonderful colours..Chris !!
amazing picture..
I never forget that ,
My Best wishes ..

Christine, this is fantastic. So glad you finally stopped to capture this scene. So saturated..reminds me of images shot with Fuji Velvia. Composition is first rate, and I really like the range of tones from the grass in the foreground, to the wood on the building to the range of hues in the sky. Adding to my favorites!
