Ciao Maurizio,

great composition, I like it;
well done

P LL   {K:30524} 8/30/2004
Ciao Giuliano,

Saluti e a presto.
Paola LL

Kees and Carolyn    {K:15193} 8/30/2004
Very unusual photo, or just different from what I'm used to seeing! I like Mr. M's expression. He looks quite apprehensive! Great tones and very creative!

Mr. M    {K:5514} 8/30/2004
Cara Patty

Detesto bere da solo,
son sicuro tu non avrai paura a farmi compagnia....
Dici che ci si riduce cosi? Paperi di gesso polverosi?

:-D

Mr. M    {K:5514} 8/30/2004
yes... I suggest Mussorgsky's "A night on the bare mountain" for this shot... yess...

If I dare....

Mr.M.

Giuliano Guarnieri   {K:34343} 8/30/2004
Ciao Paola,
ottimo acume e senso interpretativo, in effetti in parte è ciò che volevamo dare come senso all'immagine.

Grazie infinite

Giuliano

Ruta    {K:8773} 8/30/2004
"...The days of my childhood seem like a dream..."

questa mi piace molto. La composizione, il suo sguardo...

luis pereira   {K:18061} 8/31/2004
Your memory of infancy is clear and sharp and a bit surreal. The snake is a nice touch and i envy you. My mother would never let me have one. I realy enjoyed your photo.
Regards Giuliano

[[dead account]]   {K:6692} 8/31/2004
I think this is one of the best images I've seen today, but I think you might have it in the wrong category. This would be a sure BIP in the "unusual vision" category, because you captured something really unique and personal here.

Ning Fandango   {K:1277} 8/31/2004
So funny a scene with fine lighting and composition.

Giuliano Guarnieri   {K:34343} 8/31/2004
Ciao Alvaro,
...rigorosamente acido acetico glaciale!

Ciao e buona giornata

Giuliano

Giuliano Guarnieri   {K:34343} 8/31/2004
Thanks John for your project comment ... done !! :-)))

Giuliano Guarnieri   {K:34343} 8/31/2004

Ciao e grazie

GG

Ciao gioia un bacio Cecilia

P.S. foto strepitosa!!

Hugo de Wolf   {K:184670} 8/31/2004
Hi Giuliano, I've been following this series with alot of interest (although I didn't comment on many of them) Very creative work, and a very consistent series. I like the contrast in this shot, but that's with the patterns on Mr. M's scull earlier on in the series in mind. I think that created a surreal element, which made the start really strong. Good print, and a very creative shot. My compliments.

Cheers,

Hugo

Timothy Schirmer   {K:7183} 8/31/2004
Wonderful

Shiv Kumar Surya   {K:13192} 8/31/2004
nice documentry..
but why the snake is there in a bottle? Mr. M?
'Surya'

Giuliano Guarnieri   {K:34343} 8/31/2004
Hello Surya,
one of the senses of this photo is that Mr.M has been able to control and capture the obvious and evident fears (the snake in the occidental society is the symbol of the evil, i.e. Adamo and Eva) but he's sceptical for the "cartoons" on his back that seem to be happy and friendly but he knows that they sometimes can be cruel

If you have any other interpretation you are the welcome. Your suggestion and interpretation is food for thought and idea for future photos.

Bye

Giuliano

Mr. M    {K:5514} 8/31/2004
Surya... ... ... :-)
classical simple question that wide-opens an universe of doubts and answers, mmmmmmm

#1 Pragmatic answer.
Otherwise the alcohol inside will evaporate. The alcohol preserves the dead snake from a long time (see the answer #2).

#2 Animalistic answer.
No one animal were killed in the making of this photo. Somebody gave it to me more than 20 years ago.

#3 Metaphorical answer.
Everything naturally deteriorate, we must preserve it artificially to face it, like the obsession for our natural fears (and we don't understand that this behaviour doesn't make us grown, generally).

It's not a case that in occidental religions the symbol of evil is one of the symbols of sex too: maybe that's one of the reason why I'm agnostic.

Best, Mr.M.

Orazio Minnella   {K:46645} 9/1/2004

This one is amasing too! My suggestion with your pictures is to upload them smaller so I dont need to scroll my window up and down to see them properly! On 1024x768 (most common res) I have to scroll which aint great thing to do! Anyway - thanks for comment on my pic and keep up the good work!

excellent portfolio!

Cesar Augusto Carvalho   {K:982} 9/17/2004
I see Mr.M past and present are full of ducks. His expression is great.

Technically, I loved how my eye starts looking at Mr.M, then follow his sight to the snake and the wooden frame. Then, the curved line formed by the ducks masterfully guide my eyes in a third movement back to Mr.M. Wonderful!

Ann Texter   {K:10058} 9/19/2004
Hi Giuliano!
I don't know how I missed this one! :) It's great!
This series is so fun, love it! Have a wonderful day,

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 10/9/2004
Dear Guiliano,

long time no see on UF ;-)
Just stumbled over this BIP: very well executed and deserved, if I may add this.

The whole scenario is kind of surreal but just great. these comic figurines seem to hang in a speech bubble above Mr. Ms head... and the frame plus the snake inside the glass contribute powerfully to the image.

what an ultracool shot.

take care.
thilo

omar imam   {K:5529} 10/9/2004

Come sempre tecnicamente perfetta
Complimenti per il meritatissimo BIP
