About Next in my "Life" series.

You see the New Museum in Nuremberg. It has a huge front of glasses, and the contents of the exhibition shine through. what do you see? I see the moon, some sun beams, sand dunes, a stair labyrinth like in "The name of the Rose" (Umberto Ecco)... what else?

Part of the mini UF meeting with Carlheinz and Chrissie.

Comments are appreciated a lot.

Mezcla de reflejo y trasparencia, le felicito, muy buena

Kevin Collier   {K:19076} 8/31/2004
I see a swirl, like a tornado, taking the real world up into the heavens and the the walkers don't even see what is happening right next to them ... very well done. There are so many good images ruined by the relextions in the glass of the subject building - not this one - it all works ... by the way -- read Facaults Pendulum by Umberto Eco -- this reminds me more of that book, one of my all time favorites, as it tkes place in part in a museum ... regards, kev

I love this! All the shapes and lines in the refelction are wonderful...excellent eye. Regards

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 8/31/2004

Hugo de Wolf   {K:184981} 8/31/2004
Hi Thilo, The various levels make this shot. The reflection, the actual steet "Life" (as you call it) and the see through structure of the spiral staircase behind the glass fascade work very eloquently together. Very strong image, and the contrast between the rigid straight lines of the glass window fascade and the curved, more organic shapes behind it add another very intriguing element. Well composed, and a good tonal range in the B&W conversion. As it see seems to be a rather dull (overcast) day, I think turning this one into B&W is a sound decision. Good work.

Cheers,

Hugo

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 8/31/2004
Hey Hugo,

thanks for the lengthy and precious comment.
you won't like the color version, I can guarantee you ;-)
the difference in geometry is one of the reasons for this shot. great that you saw that.
take care,
thilo

Carmem A. Busko   {K:48763} 8/31/2004
Another decisive moment well captured.. we can know the environment through reflections... and the daily scene iin action in the foreground..probabley, you?ve expected them arrive.. Great work, Thilo!
As usual.
Carmem

Verena Rentrop   {K:14426} 8/31/2004
Hi Thilo,

Verena

I love this Thilo!................... 7+

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 8/31/2004
Hi Verena,

Thilo

Richard Thornton   {K:26442} 8/31/2004
Nice use of a reflection with the inclusion of people to give context and scale. There is a good tonal range and just a touch of the surreal. My, how things have changed since I was there!

Ursula Luschnig   {K:21809} 9/1/2004
Hi Thilo, das kenne ich!Schicke Dir meines als mail...BW ist bei weitem besser, und der Ausschnitt ist optimal gewählt.
