Very interesting, at first glance I thought this was a fabric flower such as my mother used to make for use in quilts and cushions. It was only after a second look I concluded it was real. I am not sure if that was the affect you were trying to achieve, but I still see it fitting nicely into one of her hand crafted fabric creations. Maybe I missed the point, but see, you still brought out a pleasant memory for me. Del.

Here is a similiar image taken in color. This one was taken in bw and the contrast bumped up some. The flower actually has a very quilted appearance. I'm glad it brought back a cherished memory :)
