About For Christine and Gayle.. though it may not be an appropriate place to add poetry, I thought I'd share a few of my old ones to accompany the images. Being a nurse, we've lost many people that we cared for on a daily basis. This one was for one of those that I loved.

A Lost Soul

He sat quietly on a park bench, his head was bowed in grace..
in old worn clothes, a look of desperation, on his face..
I asked him if he minded if I sat down for a while..
no words were spoken, then he only answered with a smile..
He had a picture in his hand, and it was badly worn..
his socks mismatched, and I could see, his pocket was all torn..
I asked if there were anything, that I might do to help..
and his reply, ' Why bother, I can't even help myself'..
His eyes were blue and faded, like the color of the sky..
and people stopped to stare a bit, as they were passing by..
A lonely man, so obvious..in need of someone close..
then suddenly, he looked at me, as if I were a ghost..
He said, 'You look just like her'..then tears formed, quietly fell..
and it was so apparent, he was in a living hell..
I put my arm around him , and told him of my life..
we shared so many stories..then he told me of his wife..
How lost he was without her, his days, now had no end..
to this I said, ' Don't worry, for you now have a friend'..
This friendship lasted only for about a month or so..
I saw him almost every day, he'd talk, his eyes would glow..
as he relived those moments, as if some quiet release..
No longer here, I pray each day, that he now rests, in peace..

OK, I spoke to soon. You have outdone the other with this soft exquisitely delicate image bathed in glorious light accompanied by this beautiful poem that you have written. The depth of sadness and friendship held within those words brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing this with us Rebecca. I am touched.
