In April, I hiked up Mt. Rainier with my son's boy scout troop as they went on their adventure to dig snow caves -- and sleep in them. After we camped at 6,000 feet in a light snowstorm, I woke up at dawn the next day and was greeted with the pink light of dawn striking the summit 8,000 feet above us. There was a bit of wind at the summit as can be seen by the wisp of cloud against the summit.
