About I went to San Diego this past week for a business trip. I stayed a few extra days to to some touristing. This was taken at the San Diego Zoo. This guy is a "Sparkling Violetear Hummingbird." I didn't know that hummingbirds could sing! This little guy was just going to town and because they are so use to people, I was able to get right up on him.

The San Diego Zoo is a must see if you visit there.

Well, the focus isn't great, but I love the colors, dof, and composition.

Beautiful image, Brian! Colours are spectacular! I like your detail, you can see the individual feathers! I've visited the zoo many years ago, and it is indeed a wonderful place.
Dave.

Really nice, Brian, the composition and background that is not distracting and the overall theme.

Great colors, seldom do you get to see them up close in such detail. Love that little patch of blue. Del.

Greeting Brian,
Beautiful capture, focus looks good on my screen, just a bit of hot spotting in the back ground toward the bottom, Nice work, best regards, Sandra

Sandra, good tip. I'll see if I can dodge/burn that area.

John Azzopardi   {K:1833} 9/25/2004
Great colours and composition ,but sharpness of the digital D100 is expected better. Well done Brian

Kunal Mehta   {K:2484} 10/5/2004
Very well taken image Brian. The reason for that is , if a bird photo is not taken at bird's eye level, it in most situation, can not give a establishment of contact between camera and bird. Very nice colors.
