About It's not actually the red light district, just lower briggate in Leeds. Just a red light on a wall..

Anyway - it's my first posting from my new Canon EF 24-28 USM lens, I've done very little with it at all.

I'm well impressed with the lens, just a beautiful piece of kit that leaves the 18-55 in the toy room really.

got 140 shots of Leeds this evening betwen the pubs, so plenty of ammo for Usefilm!

beautiful image Ade, very neat and symmetrical, great colour, did you square the image up in PS as I would have expected some distortion using a wide angle lens, is the lens really 24-28mm, not 24-85

Hi Ray,

Cheers for the comments on the above photo.

I was quite a way off this window with the following settings....

ExposureTime - 25/10 seconds
FNumber - 8.0000
ISOSpeedRatings - 100
FocalLength - 70 mm
Quality - Fine
Exposure mode - Av-priority
White Balance - Auto

So luckily there wasn't that much distortio to play with.

But you're right, I did have to use the SHEAR transformation to get the top squared up - not that much thankfully - though I guess if I was nearer at 24mm it'd have been all over the place.

It is the 24-85 - not a very common lens by all accounts as it's got a 67mm filter fitting which puts people off. But I tried it in the shop and it's just spot on - quick and silent operation, reassuringly heavy, yet compact enough not to stand out a mile.

Cheers

Ade

Super composition Ade, love the title too - for a moment I wondered where abouts in Leeds this might have been ;-)

Best wishes,
Steve
