I love the high contrast Emgy. Reminds me of the pen and ink and charcoal work I used to do. The bleached out sky gives a real sense of desolation and the impressions in the sand are far more apparent.

Interesting to see the original. No better example of how B&W can change the mood. The color is a nice photo...but there I'd jump over the boat on my way into the surf. But in the B&W it really centers and freezes my attention...as if it's evidence of a human presence on an otherwise deserted island.

This is indeed very different and it has charm in its own right. It is very much related to your abstract macro work which in your portfolio. You are seeking for the same effects of patterns. It is 100% Emgy's sensation about textures. On the other hand it looks like an very old nostalgic photo and the object, the boat, is timeless in that respect. 7 and a hug.

Hi Emgy, I usually find it very difficult to assess the value of a high key image with such a huge contrast in it, but this might very well be an exception....;o)
First the easy part: I like the composition; just off center, and well balanced.
Then on to less stable groudns. THe level of recognition, which I did miss in the previous one with the playing girl, is slightly higher, making the subjects more recognisable; the boat, the footprints on the beach and the surf rolling ashore.
Still the shapes do not tell the entire story, and alot is left to my imagination. (not too much, but just to a level where I can still cope with it...;o) Nice shot, and a creative and effective rework.
I like your dedication to the people how don't like whatever is different from the "normal" photographic work. Oh well, I just have to get over the fact that that doesn't include me....:)

Prima di tutto complimenti per il BIP, poi complimenti per la foto, il tuo nuovo stile mi piace sempre di più, non è facile lavorare senza i mezzi toni, c'è il rischio che l'immagine sia troppo grafica, invece qui l'occhio riesce a ricreare i toni mancanti nonostante l'alto contrasto, solo avrei rimosso quelle nuvole in alto a sinistra, mi sarebbe piaciuto di più un cielo candido, ma è questione di gusti. Grazie Massimo. Hai perfettamente ragione. Quella nuvola in alto a sinistra e' fastidiosa di sicuro. Devi sapere che quando ho impostato la prima foto ad alto contrasto ho deciso di impostarne anche un'altra con lo stesso effetto ma non pensavo che sarebbe stato difficile trovare un'altra immagine che si adatasse a cio'. Ho perduto un sacco di tempo a provare e riprovare fino che ho trovato questa barchetta. Avevo notato che lo scuro nell'angolo in alto era brutto e ho pensato di toglierlo. Pero', mi ero stancata e l'ho messa da parte. Quando ho impostato questa, almeno due settimane dopo averla cambiata in B&W, me ne sono completamente dimenticata. Per questa i commenti sono arrivati subito e in tanti e mi sembrato peccato toglierla via e rimetterla corretta.
Sono contenta che abbia notato il difettuccio anche tu e, a dirti il vero, da te me l'avevo aspettato, hehehe. Ciao, un abbraccio e baci

Devo dire che, quando ti distacchi dai tuoi soliti lavori, così tu dici, lo fai molto bene e con grande creatività.
Da sardo conosco questa ed altre spiagge della meravigliosa Sardegna. Il mare, al pari di tante altre cose, mi manca tantissimo. L'odore del sale durante una mareggiata od anche solo la molle umidità delle calde notti d'estate.

Non ti commento questa perchè ha preso un bip, ma per diversi motivi:
1) mi piace da matti
2) il supercontrasto che la rende fortissima
3) perchè sono sardo :)
4) per l'about, è perfetto, ma poi cosa è normale? o convenzionale? a volte il convenzionale è così noioso :), e poi è l'idea e quello che sta dietro la foto che la fanno valere secondo me a prescindere da come venga trattata.

Regarding to your comment on my 'burning heaven' photo, yes, I you're right. More lightning and contrast adds more dramatic mood to the shot. AND, of course I don't mind if you re-touch my pic, I'm learning and any advice is very welcome. The fact is I'm learning photoshop by myself day by day, playing with it and trying new things (I really hate manuals and I'm lazy, so I don't even look at it). Thanks Emgy!!
