About He realised it was not only those steps, but the whole of that dreadful routine that we was tired to follow. And perhaps it was not only the thought of leaving that place that seemed so obsessive, but also the thought of leaving it all. The thought of being no one again and leaving behind everything he was in the eyes of others. The thought of feeling the empty air again and breathing in the dizzy sensation that everything was still possible.

You said it all Aira. It explained all, and your photo completed. I was in Cuba in June, I lived it again with your picture and text...
Excellent job...

The Cuba is the country where I want going. Originality your expression.

It is the intrigue of not knowing...of moving forward, and leaving familiarity behind, that can be so stimulating. Challenge, and anticipation are intensely powerful motivaters.....you have captured them wonderfully with your dark, provocative work. Love your work, Aira! ..Brad

...everything is possible, mainly if you find small white pens on your way back home one evening... but you have to see them !

Strong - many stories are possible for this photo. I am wondering how important you think the legs of the person preceeding the boy up the steps are in you version? If they are not essential, maybe a crop off the left would allow you remove the wood structure in the lower left corner? Or maybe you like it there?

:-))))

Ciao Aira, take care

Giuliano

Kristen McDonnell   {K:509} 10/22/2004
gorgeous, poetic...as always. i love the worn cuban colors, youth captured in an old world, depth of soul. your work moves.

In Transit   {K:29394} 10/26/2004
This capture very much captures the hardship and suffereing that Cubanos have suffered for one reason or the other...

As I write... I am actually thinking of spending a few days in Habano & Trinidad... time will tell...

Thank you for sharing!
