Nice colours. However taking a proper flower shot is more difficult than you might think. You have to look at the background. For instance a nice blue sky makes an excellent contrasty background for a yellow or red flower. You also have to look for an interesting angle for shooting the flower. A centered in 'your face' approach isn't very interesting. Getting on your knees brings new oppertunities. I don't see of these things here. The B&W background can't save you here.
Last tip: use your macro mode.

Hi Sietse, thanks for your useful comment. Normally I try to follow the elements you listed to me (take a look at my portfolio), but in this case I liked the big blue area of the flower. Anyway, the next time I'll pay more attention to your suggetions. regards, lorenzo
