About The was taken at a house fire yesterday. The sun was going down behind the smoke, but some of the color is from the fire. I missed getting my shots into the local daily by just a few minutes.

My pictures and write up made Firehouse.com

Very dramatic, Brian! Certainly fits in with your earlier series, too!

Excellent photo, but oh so scary. I keep wondering if every one got out. I watched the house next door burn a few yrs ago and I could not believe the power of a house fire.

Brian Rueger   {K:7312} 10/9/2004
Del, everyone got out ok, but the house was a total loss.

Guido Tweepenninckx   {K:16955} 10/10/2004

Mucho gracias. It means a lot coming from someone with your talent...

Lou Dina   {K:12194} 10/17/2004
Great shot, Brian. For all I knew, that glow could have been from a raging inferno instead of a sunset. Lou

Brian Rueger   {K:7312} 10/17/2004
Lou, thanks for the comment. Part of the color of the smoke is from the fire. See this link.

Khaled Mursi Hammoud   {K:53382} 10/20/2004
Super capture Brian, the yellow color of the fire and fumes makes a wonderful background with good angle and capture with this jet of water crossing the image . Great catch Brian, regards.

Huw Ge   {K:1033} 10/24/2004

Awesome shot... Congrats on the Firehouse.com Here's the link to my department's story in Firehouse. Dottie

PS I would be the Paramedic standing up on the back of the car. I'm a FF/ Medic, but prefer the Medic side, which is the bulk of my department's duties. We do mainly fire support, as Orange County has a large volunteer organization. Regards. Dottie

That rating is a joke. This is a great shot. These are hard to get too Brian!Let me pop it where it belongs.-Rich

Brian Rueger   {K:7312} 1/13/2007
Thanks Rich. This is my number one shot - most comments of all my shots. It hangs in several fire stations and is on my fire department web site.

Rich  Swanner   {K:-3166} 1/13/2007
This would be great from the top shooting down with a 12-24mm or even a 14mm. Then turn and get a wide portrait of the fireman. Whew!!!

Joggie van Staden   {K:41676} 2/25/2007
A great image Brian with excellent mood and well composed - worth an award!
Joggie
