Hi Emgy, I always find the way you manage to capture textures and materials fascinating. The abstract element leaves alot to wonder about; the actual subject, the settings and surroundings as well as the tones and the layout of this image. It gives the viewer the opportunity to explore into the imagination, without doubt creating different images in different peoples' minds. that also makes it difficult to assess, as well as stating it is a good capture. I can only say, that I find it appealing, Very appealing.
As this one is quite vertically oriented, it's a bit static, but in all fairness, that's not always negative, and the different tones and hues make up for it. That contrast is essential to make a photo "work", I think.

An excellent abstact if I ever saw one. The colors shine on the metal and arrang themself in a hap-hazard form that pleases the eye.

Pretty close feeling! The picture was indeed taken in an Italian harbour but not on a rusty boat. I didn't see any rusty boat there (shame!), just yachts, but I'm pretty sure there must have been some rusty boats too. I'm adding the photo of the spot where I took this shot and about a hundred more. Particularly the bottom of the metal construction was painted in the most amazing colours. I had never seen so much rust and pealing paint before on one and the same subject. To me, it was fascinating .....
