Hi Patrick, This one is much stronger than the previous one, I think. The tonal range is more balanced in the darker parts, and the composition is very well balanced. A professional quality. Only thing to nitpick about is the lighting, which is better, IMO, but could be even a bit more exaggerated, creating a harder contrast. Very good shot.

Cheers,

Hugo

thanks for reminding me of the urgent need of breaks/meditation, I seldom take them!

under full power as much as possible, or sleeping!

standing still.....need to learn that

Take care
Verena

Lovely portrait! Great tones. I like that you have eye contact and a relaxed expression. This ine is much more relaxed in front of the camera.

Jeff Fiore   {K:12298} 10/10/2004
Great portrait! very relaxed and natural pose. Excellent tones and an overall excellent photo.

Aris Michalopoulos / OsirisiS   {K:2046} 10/10/2004
I am not so sure but i'll try to explain to you what i am feeling. These portraits are so perfectly presented that they loose their strength. "Perfect" faces in neutral moments and the photographer is absent. The background is so grey that creates a claustrophobic sense. Maybe you should try to "play" with your lights just to create shadows and shades. "Open" the perspective, make it a little bit wider, to let us "breathe" through the images. Keep trying and something really good will happen. I am sure. Aris

I like the light techniques ,it helps a lot in establishing clear balance image, al though studio type portrait is not my attractive subject, I prefer natural portrait or street portrait snap shots, the only studio type portrait, I like is the soft light ,45 degrees side effect. Though it is me only, splendid job. Saeed

You made very clear shot. the lighting is bright & tones are light - that makes the scene very open. Very good crop. best regards,w

very good thoughtful portrait, now I can see the Nikon works better for portraits:)
I prefer to take again analog pictures, so I will post a new photo only sometimes....
THANKS for your comment for my coffee-cup, but the effect was too much, so I had to delete it....
Ciao, Pia :)

Patrick Jacobson   {K:29151} 10/11/2004
Thanks alot Pia for your comment! =) Pleases me alot that you like it! I understand that you want to use analog.. I think the analog cameras produce a much better quality then the most digital ones. I think one need to go up to Nikons 12mp or Canons 16mp before you can even compare to medium pro analog ones. The tone range is much better on analog so far i think.

To bad about the mug!! But i know the feeling.. sometimes i delete pictures as well... they seems to work first.. but after a few days up on the site they become boring and shows its bad sides. I removed 4-5 photos today.. and are thinking of removing 5 more or so! Just feel bad about all the comments people made.

Hope to see something new from you soon my friend.. i like your work! =)

Ciao
