About I've seen a lot of mosk's in Istanbul, all very beautifull and diffrent from what I know from home. One thing I liked most about them, and what I don't see anymore in my Netherlands, is the social role a mosk plays in life. People gather around them, men and woman are sitting together talking, children playing. We had to go outside the touristic center for this (ofcourse) but it was great to see and just sit between it all.
I have some pictures but not a lot or very speaking images about what I just told. But anyway, a copple of pictures about the life around a mosk.
Greets Tim.

More than anything it seems it is the pidgeons that congreate around the mosque! :-) I like it, especially with your story. I'm thinking that cropping off the very top would not be a bad idea. It is very good quality for such harsh light.
