About A reflection of a summer gone past... remembering the times sitting in the sun on the cabin dock, looking at the mountains.
The local first nations people call this particular range of mountains The Sleeping Man, for when the sun hits it properly it looks like a man sleeping on his back.
ND Grad filter & polariser used.
This helps cheer those rainy day blues...

Is it awkward with the little bit of shore on the right hand side? I feel almost like it needs to be there to balance the rest out, but I would love to hear some opinions.
Thanks for taking a look!

Not knowing what it looks to the right, I'd suggest a slight pan to the right would have included a little more of the shore and lost some of the left hand side where there is not too much going on anyway. All that seems rather unimportant whith the photo at hand though - what really matters is the crisp clarity you convey. I love how one can see the bottom of the lake all the way until the reflection takes over.

Kim, Its seems as though Eagle Lake provides many a beautiful scene. Nor does this shot disappoint. Concerning the shore on the side, I dont find it awkward or distracting. I cropped the shore out on the side, only to lose perspective. I would definately keep the left side in there as the color transitions beautifully into the center of the photo. How close was this shot taken to the ground?

Another glorious landscape, Kim - the waters look so pristine! Overall I think the grad filter does a great job here, if maybe a little strong on the mountain at left, causing it to go almost completely dark. I like the shoreline on the right - as Matt said, without it the sense of depth is diminished. I agree with Stefan that even a bit more of it would be nice! Since we're nit-picking :) the far shore shows a slight tilt to the right. But all this really *is* nit-picking! This is a fantastic photo - the clarity and detail in the foreground is just breathtaking, and I can almost feel the crispness of the air...

Hi Matt!
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you... thanks for the comment on Sleeping Man. This was taken very close to water surface... about 1 ft off I would say. Just enough to get the rocks under the water to show up.
Thanks again!

Very nice lanscape shot. I like the blues in this image. You used the rocks in the foreground nicely.
