You've captured the scene nicely. My only nit pic is the horizon is sloping which needs to be corrected. Other than that, very nice indeed.

michael, gorgeous view! is this near big sur or closer to SF? beautiful colors and contrasts. i feel inexplicably attracted to the grown sand. so many patterns and tones interrupted by the foam rivulet (sp?) and the edge of the water. golden grass fading into lush green cliffs accentuated by low clouds that appear to shoot up and out over the ocean. it's a bit grainy but it works here. i've been along parts of this coast and the wind is usually pretty intense. the grain gives me that feel of wind in your face as you gaze at the landscape. truly magnificent. only nitpick, which howie already picked up on, is the horizon tilt.

take care,
tom

Shelter Cove is part of the "Lost Coast" off of Highway 1. It is in the King Range National Conservation Area.

Kodak Gold ISO 200 that sat in my refrigerator for a while. It's the nature of the beast. After switiching to digital, I no longer sweat the "grain".

Howie: This is why I love usefilm! Takes only minutes for the world to make my photo better.

Horizon crooked? Yes. I suck. Thanks for pointing that out, now that I see it it is obviously going to need a 2 percent rotation (which I will do when I get home).

Bella immagine, correggerei un po' l'orizzonte!

Stan Pustylnik   {K:6719} 10/15/2004
Gorgeous view! I must say that with Velvia or provia slide film you will geteven better colors, but most important - no grain. Did you use ND Graduated filter here, ot just fast shutter speed at day light time?

Stan Pustylnik   {K:6719} 10/15/2004
Sorry, I forgot to say that Love this image!

Truly beautiful. You are a master.

Michael Kanemoto   {K:22103} 10/15/2004
Thanks for the film information - I actually have gone 100% digital, and don't really have a grain problem anymore.

Grad filter - no, did not use one, but yes, applied a graduated effect in PS after the fact!

Wonderful! The tones are fantastic and I love the atmosphere. The tilt is already mentioned as well as the right choise of film. Bravo!

Hi Michael, Apart from the tilt in the horizon and the grain, a very impressive capture. Very moody, and well composed. I do like the highly saturated tones as well as the lighting, casting a very strong atmosphere over the image.

Excellent job on Toms' image!

Cheers,

Hugo
