About I deliberately overexposed this taking a meter reading from ground level then basically pointing the camera straight up through some leaves to the bright sky above.

Got the pastle effect I was after and the completely white background.

Something different anyway

Cheers

Ade this is brilliant, I have never seen a high key effect like this before. It looks great :-)

I just heard from Chris Spracklen that there will be a big Usefilm meet down south some time next year. I don't mind driving down to it and will probably get a car load of us if we are all happy chipping in for petrol. Will probably organise some accomodation as well. More details to follow as I get them :-)

Best wishes,
Steve

Hi Steve,

I've never really done anything like this before - was a complete experiment. I just pointed the camera at my hand and took a reading of the ambient light on the floor (manual mode to one stop above the actual reading).

I took a few shots around the woods then saw these leaves above and just took the shot on the same reading.

I've got ones where the leaves are darker but this one was much more unusual.

I've never really done much nature oriented stuff before - more landscapes and architecture really - so was quite fun trying something different.

I'll definitely be up for a trip to meet some other Usefilmers - any idea of a location yet? So long as it's not around the 11th of March I'll be fine. Look forward to it - oh, and lets get accomodation near a good pub :-))

Cheers

Ade

Not sure on the date yet but will of course keep in touch :-)
Fine on your day off - I'm on nights tonight so will be back to bed in a few hours time lol
Once I get back from Anglesey we will sort another trip out - either the university or even to York whatever we decide. Then of course there are 22+ pubs in Knaresborough all in staggering distance lol
