Trying out alternatives for you composition to reduce what I perceived as a block to entry in the element in the lower right, I am unable to improve on your composition (at least at this focal length). I agree that the border helps keep this together.

I was very safe: In Paris, they only have little dogs (that make a lot of mess on the sidewalks). =)
