Joking of course, I generally try to avoid contact with fungus, except in mushroom omlettes!

A documentary shot - good to keep a memory of what you saw and for sharing... It looked to me as there were values missing at the low end but a closer looks shows that it actually has a really well spread-out histogram - interesting (to me).

The texture of the bark is brilliantly clear and this is usually difficult to achieve in colour - the exposure is perfect.
The triple rtree is probably the result of coppicing - a traditional method for growing trees rapidly for the wood: when the original trunk is big enough it is cut off at ground level and a few of the resulting new growths from the roots are selected, the others cut back. Because of the extensive roots the new stems grow very fast and they can then be harvested. Another larger circle of stems can then be grown. In this way the tree is continually renewed and the original stock can live for more than a thousand years. You should be able to find some of these ancient trees in the woods around Westerham.
BTW I grew up in Sevenoaks which is where my "Early nudes" series were taken, so I continued to visit the area when I lived in London. I can recommend for your photos the beautiful fir forest area next to (south of) the Svenoaks bypass at the top of the hill - I hope it hasn't changed too much.
