About We saw this blob on the hillside from a long way away but didn't know what it was until I looked through my 300mm lens!! Turns out to have been a group of people having a picnic lunch, all sat down on the wet grass, nearly at the top of this very steep climb!!

The cliffs there at West Bay are spectacular ~ even when it's gloomy!

Busy night tonight ~ two leaders' meetings! probably won't be back till tomorrow!

Take care one and all. Thanks for looking in?

Chris,

Excellent. What a wonderful cliff face. I am sure these 'blob' of people are safe as they can roll down the slop if they want to.

Inclusion of a bird makes it dynamic.

well done.
regards,
ken.

PS - Got your son as well into camera works. He is not a bad clicker himself.

Hi Chris,
Beautiful cliffs, you have it all there don't you?
I don't feel the clouds ever hinder scenes such as this!
Nice work,
Lori :)

ps...have been away, so I am curious as to how your friend, Roland is doing? I'm sure you probably mentioned it on one of your own photo comments, but I'm SOOO far behind right now..

Hi Chris, Back to how I know your work...;o) The group of people, resting from the climb add a ver interesting element, as it's difficult to tell how steep the cliff is... Very nice shot.

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Chris; an excellent shot Chris. The people give a nice sense of scale here, and the distant cliff gives a great sense of depth.

I've been having computer-- actually software problems and haven't been able to upload anything for awhile now. Thanks for your comments on my boat photo. Cheers. Craig

These little people almost look as though they are picnicing in a giant crusty loaf

The things we English will do, eh, Chris! Great image and very amusing.

Laura Gariano   {K:3033} 10/20/2004
Do you suppose they wanted to stop there, or was the climb so taxing, they couldn't bear to go any further? Looks perilous. Don't anybody trip. Great shot. What marvelous cliffs I like the warm rust color of the rock face and sand its so nice against the green and the grey. Great comp and love the bird.

Dave Stacey   {K:117924} 10/20/2004
Nice composition, Chris, if an unusual subject! The bird looks as if he wants a bite!
Thanks for your recent comments!
Dave.

Talk about living on the edge. A perilous picnic if ever I saw one. Well spotted Chris. Regards John

Thank you so much for your concern, Lori.
Things aren't good for Roland. His brain tumour is maignant and, though they've removed all they can see, I guess it's likely to grow again.
I'm hoping to travel up to Britsol this afternoon, (Thursday), with a friend from church, to see and pray with him.
Best regards, Chris

Hi Chris, i like this. At first on the thumbnail i thought it was from the cliffs of Moher in Ireland, but i see now i was mistaken. Nice touch with the seagull in the picture. Best wishes Neil

Den Thompson   {K:30432} 10/21/2004
Chris, correct me if I'm wrong but I think this looks more perilous than it actually is. Has the 300mm foreshortened the perspective to make the grass area look more steep than it is in reality?
Whatever, it is still a shot full of impact caused by the vertical face and detail of the cliff.
Den

Hi Chris,
This is my kind of place! your composition is very unusual and for that very reason i like it very much. this is such a good use of your 300mm lens.
regards, Tim

Lori Stitt   {K:74437} 10/21/2004
Sorry to hear this Chris...I will continue to keep both him and his family in prayer.

Great capture Chris and well seen ... or where you following the seagull ?

When I go sea fishing I always look for the seagulls, they have a knack of leading you in the right direction ;-)

Wonderful composition also.

Best wishes,
Steve
