About It was such an amazing afternoon. From being dull and overcast one minute, (see my previous upload), to being bright and sunny the next ~ well, almost! Actually it changed dramatically as we were enjoying our fish soup in the restaurant at Hive beach?

Then, after lunch, we climbed up to the top of the cliff, (a footpath, you understand, not crampons!!), and admired the view east towards 'The Isle of Portland' ~ that's the slim wedge you see on the horizon. It was truly fabulous ~ and though my D70 has done a pretty good job of capturing the scene, nothing could ever match the sheer splendour of seeing it for real!!

Enjoy!

Best regards,

Chris

Good composition Chris. I like the view down the beach leading the eye around the frame. The clouds formations are the sort I like. They add more interest than just a blue sky. Just a bit more light on the foreground posts would be the cherry on the pie. Regards John

Very nice perspective, Chris! I like the line of the beach and surf disappearing into the distance.
Dave.

It is an endless view. The posts and fence in the foreground keep you from falling over the edge but then you really get into the picture. The water line is really a great leading line. Great work. Don.

Wow. That beach seems to go on forever. I like the light ahead on the beach, it pulls your eye through the frame and adds to the depth. I'm sure it was a splendid sight. Beautiful shot.

Merete Westerdahl   {K:11046} 10/21/2004
I think..that we hould praise the D70 this time..and not the photograper! :-) Well done, cam...you did a marvellous job with this beauty of a shot!!! :-) Looking forward to see your next! :-) I'm sorry that you have to have Chris as 'the klicker'... I know he hasn't always totally control over every movement, but listen, D70...he's a great man by heart...so help him..ok?? ;-) Be good..and make him happy!
Hugs to you now...and again... marvellous work! ;-)

Hey Klicker!!...have a great day.... ;-)
Merete

Ooooh, Merete, you ARE a tease!! ;-)

Actually, I've no problem with the camera taking much of the credit! It really is a joy to use and if you could see the 25cm x 20cm print I've done of this shot you'd see just how much detail it picks up!

So, yes, "Bravo D70!!"

Happy Thursday!

Chris

Good Morning Pastor Spracklen; (it's midnight here).

What a wonderful image, and you're title is right on-- an impressive view. The compositional element that I really like here is the strong diagonal of the waterline receding into the distance-- takes the eye right with it-- and the foreground fence anchors it and increases depth even more. Nicely seen and photographed! Cheers. Craig

Den Thompson   {K:30432} 10/21/2004
Great view indeed Chris. The sky and sea have that inbetween summer/winter look to them and the lighting on the shore is typical autumn with the long shadows. Better keep Klicking fast as Stephen tells me that D70 metering is programmed to self destruct on April 1 so we've gootta get our monies worth by then.
