About Wildfire by Michael Murphy

She came down yellow mountain
on a dark flat land she rides
On a pony she named Wildfire
With a whirlwind by her side
On a cold Nebraska night

Oh they say she died one winter
When there came a killing frost
And the pony she named Wildfire
Busted down his stall
In a blizzard he was lost
She ran calling Wildfire
She ran calling Wildfire
She ran calling Wildfire

By the dark of the moon I planted
But there came an early snow
There's been a hoot owl howling by my window now
For six nights in a row
She's coming for me I know
And on Wildfire we're both gonna go
We'll be riding Wildfire
We'll be riding Wildfire
We'll be riding Wildfire

On Wildfire we're going to ride
Gonna leave sodbusting behind
Get these hard times right on out of my mind
Riding Wildfire

I cropped the image, converted to bw, toned with a little blue,in PS elements. Then I opened it up with PS home edition, an old version, and used the extensis photo framing. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks a lot for the nice comment :)

Great presentation here, Rebecca! The original shot is good of the horse, but the toning and framing are exceptional!
Dave.

Rebecca, first of all, thank you, so much. I love that song, it always brought tears to my eyes and this image has the same bittersweet quality as the song does. The toning is incredible and the horse's eyes glisten as if with tears. He appears to be running down that mountain and into a blizzard by your addition of the white vignetting. There is such strength and sadness. Beautiful vintage touch framing.

A much greater dedication Rebecca than I have ever given to Christine ... that's for sure, but why mine went to smitherines all the way down to a 4.6 was just too much for me to handle therefore I deleted with more than one tear that ended up into the 'Pools of Gold', so sorry ... Dear Christine!

As for this image ... "May it live on into Infamy" for the one to whom it is dedicated and cherishes it so much I'm sure!

When i first heard that song i used to imagine that i was riding a black arabian stallion under a full moon with my then long raven hair flying wildly behind me just like the horse's mane...this horse is simply magnificent,Poe!..those eyes are haunting...wonderful capture and post-editing...Shameless (love the border treatment!)

Guy Dube   {K:6932} 11/18/2004
