About ... the man & the woman will pass the girl in the middle. Will they touch each other? Will they ever meet again in their lives?
... the two girls will go the next shop window. Will they find what they search for? Will they touch the woman that has to avoid the collision with the girl in the middle?
... the dog will get scared as the man on the right comes closer. He will bark so that the girls at the shop window will be suprised and watch to the dog. They will see the dark man and assume that he bothers the dog so that he must bark...
... All these lives are connected to each other although this isn't transparent to them. We should start taking care of the people surrounding us. Some morale after a long day (at least for me) ;-)

PS concept: Scan, resize, grain reduction

As always: honest feedback highly appreciated.

Hi Thilo.... This is the good part about photography, and the essence of what I call Tension in my lingo...;o) What will happen in two seconds? Probably as intriguing as what has happened two seconds ago.... A moment frosen in time, not o reoccur. It makes this shot... Great thought, and well illustrated by this image...

Cheers,

Hugo

Magnus Beierlein   {K:1540} 10/25/2004
I really like this image....like most of your images.Together with your words this is a everyday drama without being dramatic. The dof is superb to say the least.

Magnus

Maria Luisa Vial   {K:36017} 10/25/2004
In just 2 seconds a thousand of things may happen... How many times, shall we cross paths without our concious knowing our connection???

Great story here Thilo... The persperctive is excellent... Love the composition... Love the lines of the floor...

Cheers,

MaLuisa

Sergio Sánchez   {K:2350} 10/25/2004
Love the words you've written, they are so true... The photo represents what you say perfectly, they'll probably never remember this moment in their lives, but a lot of things will happen in two seconds :)

Sergio

vito lentini   {K:13127} 10/25/2004

Take care!
Verena

PS:
ist das Chrissie die uns entgegen kommt?

Fadel J   {K:13605} 10/26/2004

Hi Patrick,

alternative title was "the triangle" ;-)
I initially thought about a different cropping with a lot more focus on the three persons...

Neil Dolman   {K:26883} 10/26/2004
Hi Thilo, reminds me of a song from Nina Cherry - i think it's called "7 seconds"! I like the look you have achieved here, probably due to the film? Not quite sharp but then good enough to show. It gives this photo a sort of old look to it, of times gone by...fleeting moments that may never happen again.
Nice work. Best wishes - Neil

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 10/26/2004
Hi Verena,

LG,
Thilo

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 10/26/2004
Dear Arwa,

thanks a lot for the kind and constructive words. ;-)

this image is not part of a special series, but to be honest, this would be a great idea ;-) will keep that in mind, my dear friend.

take care,
Thilo

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 10/26/2004
Hi Neil,

not too sure where the actual inspiration comes from. part of the credit goes to Hugo for his time series ;-)

the image could be shaper, you're right. as this was handheld in a bad lighting situation, I couldn't do any better here. But as you wrote: sharpness is probably not too important here for the mood.

thanks a lot for the honest analysis.
take care,
Thilo

NN     {K:26787} 10/26/2004
Very interesting About, Thilo! It made you look at the picture in quite a different way. A frozen moment of this hectic time/life, which passes so fast ... where everything affects everything. Beautiful lighting/tones!

Uwe Bachmann   {K:10222} 10/26/2004
schöne geschichte die du da erzählst mit deinem bild. das schöne an der fotografie ist, das man eben genau solche fragen und geschichten da hinein legen kann....

Our lives are connected with others in many ways. Sometimes accidentally, sometimes because we want it desperately.. :-). You have yourself suggested stories here, and there are more to be found.. I like the warm colors here that makes a good atmosphere for this fine picture.

Petri Puurunen   {K:5121} 10/28/2004
Your story is excellent ;) nice dof with little antique-colors. very good!
