Thank you so much everyone for the great response. It pleases me to no end to get such a reaction to my work. This was part of a photoshoot welcoming an adopted newborn to the family. It was done in their living room. They were amazing. The father was really into it. There were so many wonderful results that, besides prints to hang, we created something akin to a wedding album in the form of a musical slideshow for the family. This is one of my favorites from that collection.

Sam, in reply, the shot was taken using natural light from a window. I used PS to darken the background so the baby would not show behind the hands. Thank you for your kind remarks.

Hi toni,
i'm happy that i have found today some time to have a look on your new pictures and i must confess there are some really good works in your portfolio but this one is my favourite ...
I know - there are many pictures like this which we can find on calendars or galleries but mostly there is one big lightning mistake - too hard contrast and too harsh lightning. But in this case you have found a soft light for this very sensitive scenery whitout making the mistake to give the tonal range a "flat look".

From all of the shots I've seen, this has to be the best one that covers the topic of baby feet. There is an almost swirling pattern with feet and fingers that is just mesmerizing. Very nicely done and really creative thinking~

A very imaginative and creative image. Kudos for the idea.
I'm putting this in my favourites as inspiration to do something similar.
Only grips is the image is a bit "soft" - movement or shake? I don't think it's a focus problem... Or it's intentional and I'm being silly!

Thanks, Angelo. You are not being silly. You have a good eye. I think this is soft at the edges where I did a lousy PS job selecting (artificially put against a dark background). Also, it was taken hand-held with my Casio point and shoot, and it isn't exactly as sharp as it could have been, but there is not such a thing as a tripod for me in these situations. I have to move way too fast into many positions to capture these types of images. My vision has matured since doing this and it is not how I would do it today as far as editing goes. Nonetheless, people seem to be rather forgiving of its flaws and it is a popular image so I leave it up. It even won an award at another site just as it is. I really should re-do it though, as it could be better.
