Hi Lori, I'm running out of words here.... Been behind a puter too long, I guess. The thing that strikes me is the decaying atmosphere in this image. Quite unexpected, but that's what makes it tick....
Good use of shadows and tones!

I think you can tell from the number of responses that this is a really good composition. The color tones are warm and evenly placed across the photograph, with good work on blurring out the background and a touch of that "Hallmark" feel. Good rule of thirds application on the flower. I like the sense of perspective with the near/far composition.
Excellent lighting.
