About This is another version of the pre-dawn image I posted yesterday. This time it's just after dawn and I've moved the viewpoint to the left slightly. You can still just make out the sodium lamp illumination of the poles on the jetty. I've no idea why the boatmen positioned the end two boats in a different manner to the others but they've obviously got an eye for aesthetics!

I used 5 stops of soft ND grad to tone down the sky and an 81B warm-up to add a warm hue to the lovely varnished wood of the boats. Focusing was at the hyperfocal distance which is an excellent 0.7m at the 12mm end of the 12-24 lens.

This one works much better for me Barry. The lighting is better and the exposure more even. Just goes to show if you come accross a great scene it pays to wait a while and see what happens. Great shot.
