A study in concentration! Good action shot, Brian!

Great image. I am assuming that he is at the bottom of a safety rope, and his job, should the man fall on the ladder, is to ease him down? Correct me if I am wrong. That's not a term I'm familiar with, and I love to know it all :) Contrary to popular belief, not all women THINK they do !lol

Well, they can also use their new skills in mountain climbing. This is a good illustration that could probably be used in related publications and manuals.

Wow...that's a primitive belay device...his butt! I rock climb, but I don't think I would trust myself to belay someone like that!
Cheers

Marc, well maybe "belay" was not the proper term. Here's the deal - another rookie is climbing the ladder truck's ladder. They have a line attached to them should they miss a run. There is also a back-up crew behing the guy in the shot.
