like the way the beach is devided into smaller parts and each part is diffrent from the others;
well spotted as well as good perspective

Lukasz

James Karner   {K:1431} 11/7/2004
Beautiful!!!

Adrian Kentleton   {K:3023} 11/7/2004
I love this, it works (and how!) both as a landscape, and an abstract composition. Two dualities: chocolate and cream, straight and curved, and the wonderful illusion that there's a straight diagonal (when it fact it's very wavy - no pun intended!) cutting through. Perfect - it couldn't be better

Mkm .   {K:2458} 11/7/2004
interesting, just perfect

Guido Tweepenninckx   {K:16529} 11/7/2004
zoveel golfbrekers in beeld.
Prachtig

Michele Berti   {K:14921} 11/7/2004
Really original and beautiful. What are those lines?

Peter De Rycke   {K:39471} 11/7/2004
Hi Michele, they are called "wave breakers" as they protect the beach from sand erosion. So they continue under the waterline .. and as you see in the wave pattern, this breaking works..
Thanks for your comment !

Dave Stacey   {K:117924} 11/7/2004
Beautiful composition, Peter, I think the others have said it all, and I agree! I like the toning as well, it lends itself to the abstractness, as well as the layer of mist at the top.
Dave.

So , lots of questions on this one. The lines ? Kelp ? is that people in the lower left hand side of the picture ? great shot , but i can't get the scale unless those are people ?
love it
jimc

Peter De Rycke   {K:39471} 11/8/2004
Hello Jim,
The lines on the beach must be foam- or debris marks from the last high tide(s) .. and indeed the 2 dots are people .. i was standing at 100m elevation for this shot ..
Thx for commenting !

ventrix drogo   {K:60051} 11/8/2004

Elegant the plays waves and broken by concrete lines on the beach.
Tonal range and nuances at its fullest.
In my opinion a BIP and EC Shot.
A special mention in dadding technical details!
My best compliments

Surreal landscape, like ice meeting sand. You have a wonderful mix of horizontals, a diagonal and soft curves. Well done.

David Bourke   {K:2218} 11/10/2004
Peter, this is truely superb. It works at so many levels. The way the diagonal curves back and the spot in the middle of the light, then the bright reflection pulling across the top of the image, the sea at lower right and the people at lower left. The exploration of repeating texture and infinty. The scale and human relationship to it. It is also a wonderful capture of the season, that time between summer and winter.

Congratulations on achieving so much with such a serenely simple picture.

Regards,
David
