Kevin Collier   {K:19076} 11/10/2004
you are too funny - when I saw the title of your image in the thumbnail the 1st thing I thought about was the Tom Waites song title - another great Tom Waites line is "bad liver and a broken heart" make that your next image :)

Carlheinz Bayer   {K:14220} 11/10/2004
Can I be honest with you? I miss the atmosphere I saw (and adore) on your "old" images. Don't get me wrong, that image isn't bad at all, good composed, nice colors, details, color range but I miss your style on that. Just my two cents, of course!!!
C.

Carlheinz Bayer   {K:14220} 11/10/2004
Forgot to mention that I adore your talents to find great titles! Love Tom Waits, too!!!
C.

Saeed Al Shamsi   {K:47538} 11/10/2004
This is just marvelous, am glad you upload this image, I have a small collection No. of those type of vehicles left behind in the field or in the desert, great finding, beautiful composition, Saeed

Alessandro Berselli   {K:1808} 11/10/2004

The title excellent. Regards Alessandro.

Omar Rifaat   {K:10135} 11/10/2004
Very charming capture! The colour of the truck is great. Also I'm amazed that the ladder is still on the roof! Very nice work!

Rocco T   {K:3373} 11/10/2004
Excellent colors & compo!
Regards.

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59907} 11/10/2004
Carlheinz - I can understand that you are observant to my titles of that reason that you are interesting in music too.....

Jeanette

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59907} 11/10/2004
Saeed, please post them....it would be nice to see!

Jeanette

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59907} 11/10/2004
Of course you can be honest with me and I?m glad you said your honest thought. :)

Jeanette

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59907} 11/10/2004
Ha ha Kevin - I don?t know how to create that image. I will think about it! :)

Jeanette

Stefan Engström   {K:24473} 11/10/2004
I like this "found object". The fact that the light is so bright in the background, yet pretty dull on the truck itself shifts my interest away from the main subject. Well that is my analysis "from the hip" :-)

Saeed Al Shamsi   {K:47538} 11/10/2004
I will do in near future,Thanks,Saeed

Saeed Al Shamsi   {K:47538} 11/10/2004

i have made small saturation changes on this one,
hope you like it!

Rebecca Raybon   {K:26655} 11/10/2004
WOW! This is very cool. Great angle, beautiful colors, and skies.. I think this would be cool in a desaturated or bw version also. Very nice! I love old vehicles!

karen clarke   {K:18847} 11/10/2004
The sky is so surreal and beautiful in its bright blue. I think it makes the outline of the truck just stand out even more. Great composition and angle, wonderful work~

Old and I like it .. ir

John Griep   {K:2518} 11/11/2004
Hi Jeanette,

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59907} 11/11/2004
John, that?s good because mine is also very long.
Old cars is very photo-genic.... No I also think that roof never got finished.

Jeanette

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59907} 11/11/2004
Baki - yes I like it. From your post it seems older and the car is the "protagonist"....

Jeanette

Gust@vo Sch3v3rin   {K:118786} 11/11/2004
Exelente esta foto Jeanette...impresiona el contraste entre el rojo y los celestes y azules del cielo...
Felicitaciones!

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59907} 11/11/2004
Rebecca - I did a B&W version for you, what do you think?

Jeanette

Carlheinz Bayer   {K:14220} 11/11/2004
I hope you don't mind that I invited myself to do my version of the vehicle. Hope the upload works!!!
C.

Rebecca Raybon   {K:26655} 11/11/2004
I love it in Bw! I also am attaching a desaturated version..I think this old relic would look wonderful no matter what you did to it! You started with the perfect angle, and perfect exposure. The sky is the limit!!

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59907} 11/11/2004
Carlheinz - I?m impressed. How did you to get this special effect. First I think of your Holga images, same blur and hard contrast, but secondly I think of a slide that been wrong developed. Developed as a negative colourfilm, this cyan/green colours. And the "Paris Texas" feeling is there even though there?s no fields in that movie.....

Jeanette

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59907} 11/11/2004
Rebecca - this desaturated version is cool. I have so many different versions now and all of them are good. :)

Jeanette

m.c. lopez   {K:14766} 11/11/2004
Great shot with fantastic colors.
You really have good musical references !!!

Marcus Claésson   {K:2179} 11/12/2004
Great perspective, colors and title.

/Marcus

Carlheinz Bayer   {K:14220} 11/12/2004
Hey Jeanette! Well I put your image in the blender, did add some Holga/LOMO feeling and x-processed it with expired film; they Paris-Texas feeling was waiting under the surface...:-)
I went a long way to learn what toy cameras and different development processes do to an image. I tried to get that effects with PS, because my idea was to get more control about my work. It kinda work, but it's not the same. Starts with the square format...and ends with the fun you have with cheap crappy light leaking plastic boxes.
Your image has a lot of potential, IMHO. Would be great in IR, too.
I twisted the colors, saturated/unsaturated, sharpened and blured it and added some vignetting. No special filters or something magical involved.
Looks a bit post nuclear, I know...but you could make 100 great versions out of that (because it was already excellent).

Stefan Engström   {K:24473} 11/12/2004
The Carlheinzification of this image was pretty cool IMHO.

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59907} 11/12/2004
Stefan - I agree......

Jeanette

Margaret Sturgess   {K:49403} 11/12/2004

Superb shot. Thanks for the suggestions. I posted the shot in such a hurry that I really forgot to do a little bit of cropping. Yes I shoul have cropped the black railing. Thanks.

Tore Bully   {K:1290} 11/19/2004
Fantastica!
I love all in this shot

Also you love to listen to Tom Waits?

Mr. M    {K:5514} 11/23/2004
It's a stong effect against the sky... Suggestive...

Great Tom. Great Shot.
Mr.M.

dave thursfield   {K:514} 12/5/2004
