She does look sad. Great photo really nicely lit. I think that you should have pulled her farther away from the background and allowed it to fall out of focus so that we don't see the wrinkles in it.

Personally, i like that you've placed her close to the backdrop & that we see the wrinkles in it - that just seems to add to the candidness & honesty of the photo for me. This is not a glamour shot but rather one that is capturing a strong & compelling mood & feeling of your subject. There is a rawness & a realness to the piece that i really appreciate. Beautifully done.
