| About |
Lidia has been living in this paper box in Copacabana, RJ, for 3 years. She told me that she used to be a housekeeper, but now she is unemployed. When I asked for permission to photograph her, she told me to wait just a bit because she wanted to comb her hair. She also said me that she would like to gain a radio as an xmas gift, if possible, because sometimes she is afraid of the night sounds, and listening to the radio calms her down.

Ó Márcio, você me comove!!!!! Estou gago. Sem palavras. Tive que respirar um pouco, limpar os olhos, e respirar ainda mais! Todos os dias eu falo disto aos meus alunos, aos meus filhos, a todos os que crescem e se julgam infelizes. Mas você assim mata-me. Não vou dar estrelas. Dou toda a galáxia ao meu amigo, esta noite. Mas o meu coração bate de piedade por esta mulher. Bom fim de domingo, Márcio.

What a capture you have here Marcia, it made me laugh, and almost made me cry in the same time. It made me laugh because it proves women are women all over the world, it doesn't matter how poor she is, but she wanted to look beauty in front of the camera. And it made me tear, imagining how a poor woman can live in a cartoon house for 3 years, and her dream is to have a radio, how humble she is, how humble her dreams are, and how cruel the humanity is, to her and to other millions, and above all of this, she still have this lovely smile. Very well done and great capture, Regards,

This is really nicely done marcio. you and Khaled Mursi Hammoud another usefilm member have the knack of making people comfortable enough to take their picture. I love how even in her hard times she can find a spot of hapiness in having her picture taken. Alison

Nice portrait, maybe the focus could have been a bit more on her eyes, but you captured a nice expression here. I like the litle "story" you put at "About"... that gives a more "deeper" proportion to your photo. Good work. Best regards, Alex
