I like the effect you've chosen for the background, and the black and white works well... maybe a different pose?

She is really comfotable around you... I can tell by her easy, un-posed smile.
My only nit is that this doesn't seem sharp. IT would have had a lot more impact if her eyes and smile had been sharp... perhaps a tripod or a different shutter speed would help?

Yes i agree, the impact would be greater if the image was sharper overall. Maybe if i made the background more contrasting, this may bring out the shine?..
I'll have a go at improving the shot and then get back to you.

The people in your photos do seem to connect to you as a photographer. I really like this photo, the girl has a very sweet look, and I like the blurry effect in the background. It seems as if she is sitting on a train that is moving fast, causing the 'whoosh' movement in the background, while the girl remains in focus. Cool photo.
