About When I drive from my home to the local Co-op Store on Hornby Island, the road ascends up the hillside over looking this farm that is right beside my place. My home would be just to the right on the waterfront from this vantage point. In the distance you can see the Island where the Lighthouse across the strait blinks away shining into my living room through the night.

This is Gorgeous. I can't imagine waking up to this view every morning. Do you have any idea how very lucky you are? Thanks for sharing. I love the sun veiled by clouds and the distant storm clouds receding into the horizon. Exceptionally wonderful shot!

Hi Tim; this is one of those "moody landscapes" that is a little on the gloomy side and is thus not immediately "grabbing" to many-- but I both like and appreciate it a lot as we have many days like this on the S. Oregon Coast too. But the bright green pasture lifts the mood quite a bit I think.

I think I would like to try this image as a square. I've come to like that format a lot since I got into the 4/3 digital format. Cheers. Craig

Hi Ingrid,

Yes it is a great place to be. In fact it is so picturesque that it is difficult to get to work, with all the distractions of incredible beauty here.

Hi Craig,

thanks for checking this one out.. I love the square in fact most of my paintings are in that format. I reposted this image as a sepia photo which gets away from the color thing and allows for just the drama of the light to come through plus it warms it up from the true cool colors of the reality of coastal winters.

beautiful, tim. I love the detail & colours you've caught in the clouds along the horizon. Nice place you live in! :O)

Looks like a very nice environment, Tim! Very nice composition on this shot, but that seems redundent when we're talking about your images! You took advantage of some great lighting here, too!
Dave.

Hi Dave,

Yes the light is pretty challenging here at this time of the year...mostly just grey with out much contrast. But i try to make the best of what there is everyday. I think that in the tough lighting situations that is the time that I can really improve on some aspects of my photography skills. Mostly tone and composition.

The color version of this is beautiful also! In color, the mood totally changes, to me.

Great to see whereabouts you live, Tim!
Good shot, as ever.
Best regards, Chris

Great shot Tim. It's not heaven it's Hornby Island! I especially like the bare tree with green grass in the background. Does the location allow for a photographic angle where the entire tree has a green grass background? I'd love to see that.
