Great photo. Super composition and colors, you capture the esence of Autumn 100%. I only with we could experince autumn like that here (Puerto Rico) but here trees keep their leaves year round.

This is an unusual composition, almost a left half-right half division. The color is highly saturated and there is not much detail in the tree trunk, lower left, not a crtiticism but just an observation. The bright sky, upper left is a distraction that might have been avoided by a different camera position. All-in-all, a satisfying image of fall color.

Richard, thanks for the comments.. agree with some of your critique. I don't see a problem with the colors though.. some of the issues were due to the time of day the photo was taken. As to the details at the bottom left, agree but that also was due to the low light conditions. I wish I could have gotten better detail there. The sky... well, I did try cropping the image to get rid of the sky but it eliminated too much of the tree. As to a different angle, well, that would be impossible since there was a huge cliff that I was next to as I took the photo :) so the best angle would have me walking off the eddge LOL....thanks for your critique.. much appreciated

Nice composition with the dark trunk with no leaves in front of the colorful leaves with no trunks. I find the "blah" sky in the upper left corner a bit distracting though.
BTW, I enyoyed the excerpt from Louis --- much more interesting than the tech data.

Thanks James, I agree about the sky but as I stated in another comment... not much I could do about that unless I wanted to crop a lot of the tree out of the image, which of course I did not want to do... glad that you like some parts of the image :) and.. glad that you liked the lyrics...

Thanks also for your comment on my "morning shower" shot. I had to think hard about the comment you wrote... Yes, looking back i would have expected the flash to have frozen the water, but then it was a long exposure and i guess this sort of evened it out. I can't tell from the exif data (which just shows flash used) if it was 1st curtain or 2nd curtain sync. But my guess is that it was first curtain and reduced. I often flash at -1.7 EV just to give a touch of light in the picture. In this case it shows on the rocks and not on the water. I guess i was just lucky :)

Paul: Noticed that you were adding a pile of comments and helping other people, which I appreciate on UF, so I thought I would pop over and check out the portfolio - very strong work man.
I have to say that I really enjoy the rule of thirds and the closeness of this subject, along with the saturation and bright colors.
The composition and subject is not quite as strong or energetic as some of your other BIP work, but this photo is well summed up in your About - showing a nice autumn scene with wonderful warm lighting.
Keep on shooting and dropping those great comments.

This is stunning! Drop dead gorgeous. Absolutely love the composition....the vibrant colors, and the words of the song, wowowow! I love how you contrasted what looks to me like a tree without leaves and one with leaves, very interesting. i jsut love it when art shows both sides of something and that's not always easy to do...What a pleasure to look at....That little bit of empty sky is a little distracting but there's no way you can crop it out without losing a piece of this beautiful image, so I think you did good to leave it alone. I was on my way to another page when I saw this Paul and it stopped me in my tracks. Wonderful image, beautiful presentation, the song is a nice touch....Linda
