About how we waited and waited on the Cove road for the sun to hit the 300 foot cliff. It didn't of course, the little holes in the clouds went everywehere but the cove.

We spotted a shard beaming down straight ahead and got a good few shots before it disappeaed again. This one's my facourite as the colour really blossomed, and the main illuminated wall gives a great diagonal across the image.

The rest of it's dull as chuff, but that's Yorkshire in winter for you... well untill it snows, then we're talking really nice.

Ade

Oh - ISO 800, handheld on top of a limesone wall. Was a bit shakey after the beer the night before so needed a VERY fast shutter!

Hi Ade,

nice image from Gods own County ;-)

I think just a tad more contrast would really make this zing, it feels just a little flat. However, the composition really works for me.

Hi Keith,

Fair point, so here you go - just upped the levels, sharpened it and make it more contrasty with a slight "S" shaped curve.

Was a really odd day though - the weather didn't know what to do. got a few shots up at Ribble Head, Malham, Gargrave and Skipton on the way back from Settle. Well Ribblehead was a huge detour but Pen Y Gent had some real moninous clouds to make it look really creepy.

.....I'm a lancastrian living in a foreign lane by the way! From Clitheroe originally.

I've got my visa though!!!

Cheers

Ade

much better !

sounds like you had a good day out, I must get up there with the camera in the near future. Its on the way to nowhere for us Southern Tykes, so its quite rare for me to end up out that way.

Beautiful colours there, Ade! I like the patterns formed by the walls. Great shot all round! Tell the truth I'm not sure which I prefer, I guess it depends on what kind of mood you're trying to convey.
Dave.

Super photo Ade - love the second offering, an S point curve ... takes me back to college days learning electromagnetic flux densities and hysterises loops and the like ;-)

Excellent photo :-)

Best wishes,
Steve
