About I really think I'm beginning to get the hang of using a rectangular fisheye properly. This picture couldn't have been taken any other way and it's already a personal favourite. Not bad for US$100 lens and a 50-year old camera!

Ordinarily, I don't like bald skies in color pictures. But, this has a certain high key and light effect that, as I've said before commenting on other images of yours, suggests "Japan" to me. If a telephoto had been used to compress space, then the effect would be complete. So, the high key, wide angle and intricate apparent detail all serve to make this an interesting picture for me.

Thanks, Richard. What bugs me is that the reflection of the sky shows some blue! But you're absolutely right that white skies spell "Japan." I just love the way the fisheye spreads out the space around the pool.

I like this one Roger. Can't say why exactly but I do. It is curious that you have a bald sky but the reflection in the water shows patches of blue.
It tok me a while to learn my 19mm wide angle but the more i use it the more i see uses for it.
like the series as well. - jb
