Thanks, Baki. I more or less had to keep the horizon in the centre--if you ever use a fisheye lens you'll find out why! If you point them down, the perspective goes crazy... I guess I could have cropped off some of the sky. but I rather like the clouds that show clearer in the upper part. This 900 year-old garden has become a favourite place of mine. I'll definitely be back in the spring for the cherry blossoms.

With the previous picture I commented on (The Pond) I knew straightaway that it was a fisheye shot ~ with this one I would never have guessed! Nice work, Roger!!

Hi Roger, You certainly got the hang... The bent rails are a tell tale, but I like that effect; as it creates a nice prelude to the leading lines down the slope. Nice shot. Good scan too; Could use a bit more saturation and colour depth for my taste, though, but that's a subsidary issue. Good shot!

I'll go with what the others have said, the fisheye telltales are minimal or ignorable here. I'd also agree with Hugo about adding a little more 'zip' with added saturation.
All round a very good image. I look forward to the cherry blossom version.

Attached a suggestion, you know I am famous for my bruatally cropping , and IMO all the lines and also the sky aren't needed, and of course I don't care that the pic looses it's 2:3 format.

Hmmn. I see what you mean, Bertram. But I do think that's a bit TOO fierce. I'd have to leave a bit of sky up there, maybe with the lines running up into the corner... Japan's white skies are the only things that tempt me to use PS or PSP to seriously modify my photos. I'd love to see blue skies there... but Nature rarely obliges. Chris told me how to do it, but I just can't bring myself to.
