I remember this shot Thilo... It was the first time I view your pictures... It was incredibly beautiful, and still is incredibly beautiful... Love the E.T. form in the background... Excellent lighting... I like very much the cropping amd the lighting... and if you would make me decide for either one, it will be a very hard choice for me... :)

as for the PS intervention: To be honest, the PS part is relatively small here. It's huge if you compare the original version with the new one. that's the reason for the "PS attack" in the about =).

Hi Thilo, This one is definately eledgible for a third BIP in a row...;o) I do believe this is the most dramatic and strong shot, and thus YOUR best shot of 2004, althoug here are quite a few close "runners-up"...
In comparison to the one you posted initially, I do think the work on the toning is much more subtle and stronger, but centering the compsoition is not quite an improvement (from my point of view...;) Nonetheless I still think it's awesome!

I was sure that you won't like the centering. =)
My reason for doing so is the shadow casting. It's straight downward, so that the off-centering in the first image produces a disharmony in my opinion that won't fit with the subject. If the shadow would be different and not so straightforward, the off-centering would definitely be THE choice. just my 2 cents though =)
anyway, thanks for the encouragement, my friend. your different and valuable opinions helped me a lot the past months. I won't miss them =)
