the background seems to be a bit distracting due to the fract it is crowded a bit

This is a great macro dude. Looks like somethings been nibbling!!!!!
I can almost smell the lavender but it's not that which i would find a distraction to the main focus. if anything it would be the shadow in the bottom right of the image.

A really clear shot. The Monarch's colours and markings are in sharp contrast to the background.

Is it my imagination (or poor biological knowledge) or is the left wing damaged?
