About This shot was taken during the astronomy camp which took place in the Polish mountains (called Tatry) years ago. Every night we observed our lovely sky and took some measurements. That time I was fascinated by the variable stars and I measured their brightness.
Anyway, it was summer (August actually) and the sky was full of meteoroids coming from Perseus constellation. Suddenly, first we saw extraordinary glow and then harsh sound. It was a gigantic fireball. Everything lasted couple of seconds and then the fireball exploded causing very intense trace on the sky. I was shocked but fortunately conscious enough to grab my camera, adjust it and take some pictures of this trace ? it was disappearing very quickly.
Beneath you can find the result of my try.
Because the picture and the negative is quite old I added some blue color to make the sky look like the sky.
I hope you like it.
Best regards
Lukasz

P.S. There are some small scratches on the picture - please forgive me cause it would take eons to remove them all without removing stars :-)

WHOOWWWW !!!!! excellent shot, Lukazs. I tried to take photo of the perseid meteors also, last september, it was excellent to see with the eyes (although I didn't have the gigantic fireball), but maybe because I captured in digital camera, the result is not as fabulous as this. very well done
